International Women’s Day 2026

 #Give to gain was the theme for International women's day this year.

Here at CCC we opened our doors for a drop in: Come for a bun was the invite.

We celebrated through sharing experiences over a cuppa and fabulous buns.

Talk soon turned to days gone by and how the world was for women, especially when travelling and living abroad.

A common topic was the expectation that women followed their husbands unwaveringly across the globe. 

Themes of isolation and loneliness  were high on the agenda, as was not knowing the  cultural norms and expectations in a new country.

Unsurprisingly women sought each other out and extended warmth and compassion to their new counterparts, making these life changing encounters easier.
